Description
Scottish early modern, 1904, sanguine and black Conté crayon drawing on paper on artist board by William Strang, titled Portrait of Anna Barnes Bliss [Mrs. William H. Bliss], showing, against blank background, half-length, three-quarter proper right portrait of sitter, wearing high-neck late Victorian lace dress over which is worn open jacket of contrasting materials, and having hair loosely piled on head and, presumably, fastened at back.

Method and date of acquisition unknown. Possibly commissioned from the artist by William H. Bliss (1844-1932);

Probably collection of Anna Barnes Bliss (1851-1935);
