The bowl is cast in three sections and hammered with punched decoration and gilding. In the center of the bowl is a raised boss decorated with a cone of petals surrounded by a circle of raised dots, a plain, depressed band, and another circle of dots. This is encircled by a wide band of concave disks on a background dotted toward the center of the bowl and decorated with leaf form toward the rim, and enclosed by another depressed band between circles of raised dots. The rest of the bowl is undecorated except for a band of gilding on the inner rim. The ring foot is encircled by a classical dentil design.
